EFG voices opinion on nutrient neutrality amendment

Earlier this week, the government announced an amendment to the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill. This amendment would mean that housing developers would not be required to mitigate the additional nutrient impact their developments would have on sensitive river systems.

EFG thinks this move is ill thought through and will have a detrimental impact on already highly sensitive ecosystems. What’s more, there could be wider ramifications for the wider natural capital markets.

Listen to EFG Member Clare Lees speak on the topic on BBC Radio 4’s Farming Today, and EFG Chairman Rob Shepherd, who voiced his opinion on the Farmer’s Weekly podcast.
