‘Robin Appel Ltd are proud to be supporting the EFG to secure the best environmental results, reduce carbon emissions and navigate financial returns for farmers whilst growing value adding crops.‘
Robin Appel Ltd is an independent UK-based grain and seed trading company, founded in 1980 and headquartered in Hampshire. The company specialises in value added arable crops such as milling wheat, malting barley, milling oats, linseed, pulses and organic grains as well as offering storage, cleaning and transport services. Robin Appel Ltd focuses on connecting farmers directly to end consumers with full integrity across the whole supply chain.

‘Robin Appel Ltd is one of the few remaining truly independent ‘grain merchants’ still operating in the UK. With a strong track record in putting together added value supply chains, we are able to continually expand our activities across multiple commodities in both the organic and conventional sectors. A cutting edge software programme coupled with an industry leading team, we continue to be able to join farmers with their markets. It is an ethos that was critical to the company’s success in its early years and has endured to today. With the increasing need for traceability, sustainability and, above all, a much needed premium, we are able to work with blue chip companies in many different crop sectors. We can place farmers nearer to their customers and tune in to growing and producing what end users require and to what specification.
The company is now fast approaching its 50th year and has gone from strength to strength in recent years as the size and the quality of the great team of people allows us to provide a level of service more than most of its bigger counterparts. This unique ability also attracts end users who are looking for a more bespoke and focused supply chain who are more able to deliver full traceability and access to growers. The ongoing focus on sustainability and the ability to deliver premiums back to farmers will in turn provide further opportunities. We envisage being able to work closely with EFG on this and look forward to exploring these opportunities’.
